Carol Harbison COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa #45;- Carol Harbison, 87, of Columbus Junction, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at the Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction. Grave side services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Columbus City Cemetery in Columbus City. There will be no visitation. A memorial has been established for the United Methodist Church of Columbus City. Arrangements are under the direction of the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction. Mrs. Harbison was born March 17, 1913, in rural Columbus City to Walter and Nellie McRoberts Marsden. She was the youngest of three children. She was raised on the family farm in the Shellbark neighborhood. She married Clyde Harbison on June 28,1941, in Kahoka, Mo. She attended the Shellbark Country School through 8th grade and graduated from Columbus Community High School in 1931. They worked together for many years assisting her parents on the farm. She loved farming. She and her family were long-time members of the United Methodist Church of Columbus City. She was an accomplished organist and beauty operator. She also enjoyed refinishing furniture, quilting, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She and her husband, Clyde, retired to Hemet, Calif. in 1971. He died there in 1980. She returned to Columbus Junction in the spring of 1999 and resided at the Colonial Manor Care Center. Survivors include nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Harry Marsden; and a sister, Hilda Giffey.
