"Jack" was the son of John Henry Ivey and Fannie Shelton Ferguson and was born and raised at 514 Brunswick Ave. Emporia, Va. He married Virginia Belle Pittman on November 2, 1945. He had one son, William E. "Bucky" Ivey, Jr. and one step son, Paul Brent Parker. He had two grandchildren, Melissa Lane Ivey and William Edward "Will" Ivey,III.

"Jack" was owner operator of Southside Cab Co. Emporia, Va for over forty years.

"Jack" passed away at The McQuire Army Hospital April 26,1986 after a long illness.
