LOVERN, Harless Lee, 82, of Blacksburg, went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 7, 1995. He was the son of the late Matthew Lee and Gaynie Ann Sweeney Lovern. Mr. Lovern attended the Blacksburg Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years. He retired from Hercules on May 1, 1974. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Bland Lovern, two daughters, Judy Marie Lovern and Peggy L. Elliott, two grandsons, Stephen C. Rice and Darrell K. Price, and one brother, Hubert Lovern. Left behind to cherish his memory are two sons and da ughters-in-law, Randol H. and Josephine Lovern, Edward M. and Connie Lovern; one son-in-law, Rodrick Elliott, all of Blacksburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy L. and Larry Thompson, Shirley L. and Clarence Price, all of Blacksburg, Christine L. and William Rice, Blue Ridge. In addition to his children, he leaves behind 12 brokenhearted grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to two grandchildren, Wanda Slusser and Rickie Lovern for all their devoted care. He is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Dorothy Lovern; and one sister, Viola Huffman, all of Blacksburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, 1995, at Blacksburg Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Jerry Sloss officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
