Mrs. Whatley was a member of West University Baptist Church and retired as an English teacher with Houston Independent School District. She was preceded in death by her first husband, The Rev. Dozia David Cash and her second husband, Robert K. Whatley {Marriage: Sept. 4, 1970}; her daughter, Dorothy Holman; and her granddaughter, Julie Berry. Mrs. Whatley is survived by her granddaughters, Karen Kennedy, Mary Katherine Mastrangelo, and Susan Prochazka; brothers, Jay Hubert Wilson and wife Frances, and Jim Wilson and wife Jean; and several great-grandchildren.
