James E. Gobrecht, 65, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Nancy E. (Felts) Gobrecht. He was born September 5, 1945, in Hanover, the son of the late Martin L. and Loretta M. (Stevens) Gobrecht. He was a 1963 graduate of Eichelberger High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired in 2009 from Henkle McCoy as a telephone lineman. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, East Berlin V.F.W., and was a prior member of the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club. He loved his family and grandchildren, and was an avid fisherman and sports fan. In addition to his wife, Nancy, James is survived by two daughters, Marcy E. Hufnagle and her husband, Nicholas of East Berlin, and Michelle D. Crone and her husband, Bradley of Hanover; a step son, Richard P. Riley and his wife, Amy, of New Oxford, two stepdaughters; Sherry L. Howland of Gettysburg, and Tamberly Ritchie of New Oxford; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Gobrecht of New Oxford; and a sister, Jean Rebert of Spring Grove. He was predeceased by four brothers, Rodney, Glenn, Francis and John Gobrecht; and five sisters, Evelyn Sharp, Leona Gobrecht, Gladys Becker, a memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way W., New Oxford, with Sister Deborah A.S. McClellan of the V.N.A. Hospice, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing, however the family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com
