THIS IS TO CERTIFY that George W Huggins enlisted from Perry County PA August 6th 1862 and was mustered into the United States service at Harrisburg PA as a private to serve for a term of nine months in Company I 133rd Regiment PA Vol Infantry under Captain A B Demaree and Colonel F B Speakman. The regiment was assigned to the 1st Brigade 2nd Division of the 5th corps Army of the Potomac, and Comrade Huggins shared the fortune of his regiment in all its movements and engagements including the Battle of Antietam, MD Sept 17, 1862 in reserve Fredericksburg, VA Dec 13 1862 Chancellorsville MD 1863 finally Honorably discharges May 1 1863 by reason of expiration of term, was wounded at the Battle of Chancellorsville May 3 1862, was shot through neck, was in field hospital one week then sent home. Reentered the U.S. Service as private PA Vol Infantry under Captain S G Cillman February 24 1864 in Co C 77th Regiment PA Vol Infantry and CL F.E. Ross. The regiment was assigned to the 3rd Brigade 1st Div. of the 4th Corps Army of the Cumberland and participated in the following Battles. Rock Face, Ridge GA May 5-9 1864 and Reseca GA May 13-16 1864 Adairsville GA
