Lew was born Jan. 19, 1926, in Ogden, Utah, to Gottlieb Albrecht Feucht and Luise Weiser Feucht. He was a Christian man who loved life and he adored his family. As one of the "Greatest Generation," he served in the United States Marines as a radio operator. He served in World War II, the Korean War and fought at the Chosin Reservior. He was very proud to be a Marine and was passionate about it. He was a member of the KWVA (Korean War Veterans Association) and The Chosin Few.
Lew was employed and retired from Western Union Telegraph Co. after 44 years of service in 1983. He was a member of Meadow Lane Baptist Church. Lew loved reading, studying the Bible and learning about God. He loved music, movies, poetry and photography. He loved gardening and he grew amazing gardens every year and his family loved eating what he produced. He was a hard-working man and worked hard to take care of his family.
He always credited "The Good Lord" for taking care of him and us. He knew that God loved him and certainly gave Him the praise and glory for everything. He was a very positive man. Everything was "wonderful" in his eyes. Anything he did with any one of us he referenced it in every conversation for days afterwards and it was always "wonderful." Every little task with him was very much appreciated and he made sure you knew it.
A special thank-you to the staff and residents at Town Village Retirement Center in Arlington for their friendships and for their kindness during this very difficult time. He so enjoyed the years that he lived at the Village tremendously.
Lew was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Lynn Feucht, in 1995.
