Mabel Davis Bounds, 82, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at Riverside Regional Convalescent Center. Born in Creeds, she had lived on the Peninsula since 1929 where she was a member of Hampton Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James H. Bounds Sr.; three children and their spouses, James H. and Merle D. Bounds, Jr. of Poquoson, Sandra B. and Robert T. Moore of Poquoson and Pastor David L. and Sharon B. Bounds of Gloucester; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel by Rev. Jay Russ. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. They will be at 10 Edwards Road, Poquoson, at other times.
Memorials may be given to Hampton Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 40 King's Way, Hampton, 23669.
