The son of Charles and Georgia (Mineyard) Atterberg.
Married Dixie Fleming 8/11/1945 and had 4 children - Teena, Tonya, Roger and Tamara.
Married Helen Newell 5/5/1973 and her children - Tom, David, Mark and Richard.
In younger years he lived in Colardo where he worked as a truck driver hauling uranium from the mines.. He moved to Keokuk, IA and was employed by Hubingers and Ideal Ready Mix. He is a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Chiurch in Keokuk and was a Teamsters Union member.
Bud enjoyed trapshooting and fishing. He became an expert growing tomatoes and sold produce from his garden for the last 12 years. You could find Bud at McDonalds every day at 1PM enjoying coffee & conversation with his friends.
Harold "Bud" Atterberg died Wednesday October 30, 2011 in his home in Keokuk, IA at the age of 83.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Atterberg of Keokuk, three daughters, Teena Caldwell of Farmington, MO, Tonya Ferguson and her husband Hugh of Warsaw, IL, and Tamara Christenson and her husband Tim of Camano Island, WA, one son, Roger Atterberg of Keokuk, four step-sons, Tom Mullen and his wife Linda of Keokuk, Davis Mullen and his wife MinHui of Los Angeles, CA, and Richard Mellen of Keokuk, one step-daughter, Cindy Lovell and her husband Kenneth of Montrose, IA, thirty grand children, fourty-three great grandchildren, two sisters, Alberta Piersee of Keokuk and Carolyn Kite and her husband John of Croton, IA and several nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by two sisters, Mary Mahoney and Dorothy Shea three brothers, John Atterberg, Charles Atterberg and Robert (Bob) Atterberg, two son-in-laws, Raymond Caldwell and Gary Young, and one daughter-in-law Becky Kelly Atterberg
One nephew, Joseph Atterberg died earlier the same day in Quincy, IL.

He will be buried with his cat Fluffy which died 2 weeks earlier.
