Mr. Vorwald was born on November 22, 1916 in New Vienna son of Frederick and Mary (Ahlers) Vorwald. He married Irene Fangmann on August 24, 1943. He dairy farmed in the New Vienna area all his life.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Fred (Carol) and Carl (Debbie) both of New Vienna, five daughters, Mrs. Jim (Jan) Lex and Arlene Vorwald both of Dubuque, Mrs. George (Jean) Driscoll of Mechanicsville, Mrs. Jeff (Donna) Jacque of Dyersville and Mrs. John (Marian) Schmidt of Holy Cross, 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, three sisters and four brothers.
