Capt William N Doughty, 68, died Friday night, 1 March 1889. He was a native of Virginia, but has resided here continuously since the war. He was president and cashier of the Stones River National Bank for some years and for some time owned and operated the bucket factory. He was born in Virginia and married in 1851, Miss Sarah Abernathy of Knightstown, Indiana, with whom he had 5 children. His convictions place him on the Union side, and became a Captain, serving his country faithfully. We understand that his first venture here was on the northeast corner of the square. He leaves his wife, 2 sons and 2 daughters.
