Alvin Bedel, 63, a farmer, died late Tuesday evening at his residence in Hamburg.

Mr. Bedel was born Nov. 25, 1918, at Hamburg, the son of John M. and Roe Lamping Bedel.

He was married to Rita Bunyard Aug. 27, 1941, at the Holy Family Catholic Church at Oldenburg, and she survives, with seven sons: Anthony, Robert, Paul, Ambrose, and Maurice Bedel, all of Greensburg, Thomas Bedel, Star Route, Oldenburg, and Mark Bedel, at home; three daughters: Mrs. Donald (Carolyn) Rennekamp and Mrs. Steven (Edith) Lecher, both of Greensburg and Mrs. Donald (Marilyn) Freyer, Batesville; 30 grandchildren; three brothers, Edmund Bedel, Batesville, Sylvester Bedel, Hamburg; seven sisters: Mrs. Alban (Coletta) Prickel, and Mrs. William (Dolores) Weisenbach, all of Morris, Mrs. Henry (Cecilia) Wessler, and Mrs. Clement (Alfreda) Peters, both of Greensburg, Mrs. William (Antoinette) Enneking, Cincinnati, and Miss Alberta Bedel, Hamburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, one brother, Leonard Bedel, and two sisters: Adeline and Esther Bedel.

The mass of resurrection will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Maurice Catholic Church in St. Maurice, with Father Ambrose Schneider officiating, and with burial in the St. Ann Cemetery in Hamburg. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at the Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville, where a rosary will be held at 8 p.m.
