He was born Jan. 27, 1949, at Hutchinson, the son of Robert Glenn and Betty Lou Mears Young. He graduated from Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College. He was employed at Dolphin Pool Supply and Service Inc. as a technical service advisor for 25 years.
Survivors include: his parents, Hutchinson; two stepbrothers, Robert Kafka, Pittsburg, and Scott Kafka, Wichita; and a stepsister, Kristine Regier, Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Lou Young Abernathy.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Pastor Lynn C. Sifrit presiding.
