Clara Daggett

Clara M. Daggett, 89, of the Ridgewood Care Center, died there at 2:15 p.m. Nov. 7, 1984.

She was born Sept. 30, 1895, at Fairfield to Zachary and Mary Ann Landes Tinsley. She was a member of the Finley Avenue Baptist Church, was a 50 - year member of both the Ottumwa Chapter 112 Order of Eastern Star and the Wapello White Shrine Number 4, and was a member of the Social Order of Beauceant. She married Earl S. Daggett on June 7, 1916 in Ottumwa. He died in 1967.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty J. Sweeney of Ottumwa; two grandsons, Dennis Sweeney of Cincinnatti, Ohio, and the Rev. Randy Sweeney of Sioux City; a grandaughter Cynthia Brown of Ottumwa Route 3; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son in infancy.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Rick Qualls of the Bethany Baptist Church officiating. Burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Randy Sweeney, Greg Brown, Clarence Pearson,, Chet and Paul Tinsley, and George Lang. The casket will be closed at the service begins.

Visitation will be after noon Friday.

The family will be at the funeral chapel from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday.

A memorial has been established.
