The Daily Notes, Canonsburg PA, Monday 19 September 1977, page 3 - MARY C. WEAVER, 81, of Canonsburg R.D. 1, died unexpectedly at 7 p.m. Friday, September 16, 1977, in her home. She was born May 12, 1896, in Peters Township, a daughter of LOYAL and EDMONIA RIGGS CHEESMAN. She was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church; Miller's Run Grange; 1921 Needle Club; and was a graduate of Duff's Iron City College. She was last employed by Mollenauer Transfer Company, Canonsburg. Her husband, R. DELL WEAVER, died in 1971. Surviving are two sons, RITCHIE and THOMAS WEAVER, both of Canonsburg R.D. 1; two daughters, LAURA JANE, wife of GALE BOAK of Canonsburg, R.D.1 and MRS. RUTH SMITH of Brookline; a brother, TAYLOR CHEESMAN of North Strabane Township; a sister, JEAN STURGEON of St. Petersburg, Fla; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. One brother, HAROLD, and one sister, MAUDE, are deceased. Services were held Monday, September 19, in the William Speakman Funeral Home.

Note: Mary was Robert Dell Weaver's second wife. His first wife, Mable Hastings Weaver died in 1946, and is also buried at Oak Spring Cemetery in Canonsburg. Mable Hastings Weaver was the mother of Laura J., Ritchie D., Thomas L. and Dora Ruth.
