Obituary: Cecil D. Brandon, 87, of Milton, Washington, died Tuesday, January 2, at St. Joseph Hospital n Tacoma, Washington. Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Bro. Virgil Hale officiated. Burial followed in Sellers Hill Cemetery in Clarksburg. Mr. Brandon, the son of the late Milton Brandon and Telitha Johnson, was born June 19, 1913, in Clarksburg. He lived in Carroll County until 1931, then moved to Obion Co., where he lived until his retirement form Brown Shoe Co. in 1975. After his retirement, he moved to Seattle, Washington, area to be near his sons. He had worked as a farmer, grocery store clerk, stock room clerk for Brown Shoe Co., produce truck drive route driver for Moore Fruit Co., and finally with his sons in a small business in the Seattle area. He also enjoyed many hobbies in his lifetime, such as leather working, farming, rockhounding, motorcycle riding, traveling. After retiring, he traveled extensively in the U.S., made a trip to Mexico and visited his son in Japan. On November 19, 1932, he married Mary Lucille Bobbit, who preceded him in death in December of 1983. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Homer Brandon, G.A. Brandon, Weldon Brandon and Basil Brandon. Mr. Brandon was a member of Berea Church of Christ in Rives. He is survived by his wife, Belva Brandon, whom he married on May 9, 1987; two sons, Rayburn Brandon of Ronald, Washington, and Curtis (Gene) Brandon of Auburn, Washington; a brother, Elmer Brandon of Clarksville [Clarksburg, Tennessee], two sisters, Brooksie Orr of Huntingdon and Thelma Johnson of Baytown, Texas; four grandchildren, Paul D. Brandon, John C. Brandon, Mark D. Brandon, and Cathy Boyle; and a great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Boyce.
