Margaret Pritchard
Services were held for Margaret Pritchard, 83, Saturday, July 2, at Elgin Lutheran Church. The Rev. Bruce L. Hanson officiated. Interment was in Elgin Cemetery. Muethlethaler Funeral Home, Elkader was in charge of arrangements.
Margaret was born Feb. 6, 1911 at Elgin, to Isaac and Esley (Boleyn) Monnahan. She was raised and educated in the area. Margaret moved to Castalia, with her family for a short time but later they returned to Elgin.
Margaret was united in marriage to Walter A. Pritchard June 30, 1928, in Fayette County. Twelve children were born. Together they fanned over the years in Elgin, Monona, and Brainard, area. Upon retirement they moved to Farmersburg.
Walter died Dec. 30, 1987. Margaret continued to reside at their home in Farmersburg.
Margaret died Wednesday, June 29, 1994 at her home in Farmersburg. She will be remembered as one who enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and canning.
Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Charles (Ilo Mae) Corbin of Volga, Mrs. Marvin (Marion) Van sickle of Hawkeye, and Barbara Peterson of Mederville: nine sons, Amos of Littleport, Leslie of McGregor, Lyle of McGregor, Richard of Garber, Alfred of Littleport, Gary of Farmersburg, Robert of Atlanta, Brad of Loveland, Colo., and Rodney of Monona: 51 grandchildren; many many greatgrandchildren; a brother, William Monnahan of Oelwein; two sister, Minnie Davis of Minneapolis, Minn., and Wilma Herriman of Wadena, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides by her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and by her parents.
Casket bearers were Amos Pritchard, Leslie Pritchard, Lyle Pritchard, Richard Pritchard, Alfred Pritchard, Gary Pritchard, Robert Pritchard, Brad Pritchard, Rodney Pritchard.
