Death came to end the suffering of Mr Isaiah Betty, an aged resident of this city last Monday evening after an invalidism lasting for nearly thirty eight years.

About thirty eight years ago Mr Beatty suffered a stroke of apoplexy, which resulted in partial paralysis, and which has left him an invalid since that time. During the past year he became gradually weaker until death came to his relief Monday.

Mr Beatty was born in Lewistown, PA, December 28, 1831. He lived there until he was thirty-eight years of ages when he moved to Minnesota where he remained for five years. He then came to this county, settling near State Center, but leaving after a residence of five years for Oregon. He returned to near State Center in 1897.

On May 18, 1870 Mr Beatty was united in marriage with Miss Adeline McReight, at Ripley, Ohio. She survives him, as do two daughters, Mrs W H Daniels and Miss Bessie Beatty of State Center. One sister, Mrs Emma Kennedy of San Francisco, is the last surviving member of the family of 12 children.

Mr Beatty also leaves nine grandchildren, the children of Mr and Mrs Daniels of this community.

The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the home at 2:30 o'clock, Rev L C Hine conducting the services. Burial was made in Hillside cemetery.

The Enterprise, with a large number of friends of the bereaved family, extend to the family their heartfelt sympathy in their hour of sorrow.
