Born Dec. 24, 1918, in Lodz, Poland, she was the daughter of Joseph and Cipora Bielawska Cender. She attended schools in Poland.
Sarah was a Holocaust survivor. She married her husband, Hirsh, on Jan. 17, 1946, in Germany. In 1949, the couple made their home in New York City before moving to the Berkshires in 2001. Mr. Altusky died August 5, 2006.
She is leaves her daughter, Cipora Brown Feiner, and her son-in-law, Steven Feiner, of Alford.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral service for Sarah Altusky will be on Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Hevreh of Southern Berkshire in Great Barrington, conducted by Rabbi Ari Rosenberg. Burial will be on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery in Great Barrington.
