HAMLIN - J. Dorr Hamlin of 1576 High passed away Wednesday, Jan. 5, 1955, at the age of 83. He was born April 27, 1871, in Traverse City, Mich. He came to Oregon at the age of 20 and had resided in the Eugene vicinity for over 50 years. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, the BPOE No. 357, Eugene Rotary Club and Obsidians. mHe is survived by his wife, Myrtle A. Slayter, whom he married in June, 1905, in Portland; 3 sons, Clare K. and Miner S. both of Eugene; 2 granddaughters, Sonny Lee and Terry M.; 1 sister, Edith Darling of Corvallis; and 1 brother, Orville, of Portland. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 8, 1955, at 1:30 p.m. in the Veatch Hollingsworth England Funeral Home, with interment in Rest Haven. The Knights of Pythias will conduct graveside services.
