Arthur was born December 19, 1916 in Cylinder to Gottlieb and Susan (Helwig) Kracht. He received his education in the Seneca Schools. On January 15, 1944 he married Elola Wegner in Fairmont.. He farmed, did custom shelling and trucking in the Armstrong area until retiring from farming in 1981. He then continued to custom shell and truck until 1988 when his health failed. The couple moved to Ringsted in August of 1989. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Ringsted.
Survivors include his wife Elola of Ringsted; three daughters, Mrs. Roger (Lorraine) Hopkins of Sedalia, Missouri; Paulette Kracht of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mrs. Mike (Lece) Bonnicksen; one brother, Ray Kracht of Rochester; and three sisters, Charlotte Campbell of Iowa Falls; Ruth Schmidt of Burt and Mrs. Francis (Eva) Sullivan of Armstrong.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
