Mrs. Eula Mae Swain Addington, age 76, of Swain Drive, Blairsville, GA passed
away on Friday, Jan. 31, 2003 in the Union General Hospital following an
extended illness.

Mrs. Addington was born on July 9, 1026 in Union County, the daughter of the
late Charles Harvey Davis and the late Alice Naomi Rich Davis. She was a
native and lifelong resident of Union County. She had retired from Union
General Hospital where she was a nurse. She was preceded in death by a
daughter Laura Alice Swain in 1982, a son James C. Swain, Jr. in 2001, by her
first husband Clyde Swain in 1968 and by her second husband Rufus Addington in
2002. Mrs. Addington was a member of Salem Methodist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Addington are three daughters, Betty Andrews of Blairsville, Dot
Payne of Blairsville, Virgie Swain of Blairsville; one brother, Edward Davis of
Blairsville; three sisters, Beulah Davis of Blairsville, Ellaree Fortenberry of
Clermont, Geneva Chastain of Blairsville; six grandchildren, Robert Rogers of
Blairsville, Elizabeth Hooper of Hiawassee, David Hancock, Greg Payne, Gwen
Hooper and Alana Swain all of Blairsville; seven great grandchildren, many other
relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Sunday Feb. 2, 2003 at 2:00 PM from the funeral
home chapel with the Rev. Stacy Dyer officiating. Special music was presented
by Sarah and Wofford Kelley. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers,
Tony Sosebee, Larry Davis, Benny Erwin, Ricky Abercrombie, Jimmy Alexander, and
Dayton Dyer. Interment followed in the Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery.
