James was a truck driver for 25 years for Milacron, a US Army WWII veteran, He served in the 82nd Airborne Division, received the Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, EAME THER Service Medal with four Bronze Stars and the WWII Victory Medal, and was a member of VFW Post 9772 in Mt. Orab.

James was born in Greenbush Ohio, the son of the late Ora and Edna Jones. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Leona Jones; three sisters, Sue Moler, Mary Stevens and Bernice Connor; and one brother, John Jones.

He is survived by three daughters, Genevieve Dickson of Mt. Orab, Barbara Thackston of Westland, Mich., and Donna Thompson of Taylor, Mich.; four sons, Carl Jones, Kenneth Jones, Rick Jones, all of Mt. Orab, and Dennis Jones of Williamsburg; two sisters, Dorothy Taylor and Grace Kuhlwein, both of Batavia; one brother, Charlie Jones of Maysville; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
