8 Sept 1914: A soldier's burial in Walmer's Cemetery, East Hanover Township, was today given the body of the late Daniel Fegan, one of the oldest residents of Annville, whose death at the age of 77 years occurred Friday evening. Services were in charge of Rev. W. F. Delong, pastor of Christ Reformed Church, Annville, with interment in charge of Coleman Post, G. A. R., Annville, of which he was a member. Mr. Fegan enlisted on October 21, 1861, as a corporal in Company K, 93rd regiment, Pa. Vols., and was wounded at Fair Oaks, May 31, 1862. He was discharged on a surgeon's certificate on August 2, 1862, only to re-enlist in Company C, 173rd regiment, Pa. Vols., as a first sergeant. He was finally discharged August 17, 1863. Mr. Fegan was a life long resident of Annville, a son of the late Daniel and Magdalena Fegan and the last of a family of fourteen children. His wife died fourteen years ago and he leaves three children, Irwin Fegan, at home, and two daughters, Miss Sallie Fegan, at home, and Mrs. Annie Kreider, of this city. He was a Republican in politics and a member of Christ Reformed church. [Lebanon Daily News]

The Diaries of Daniel Fegan Jr., 1862-1863, recounting Fegan's Civil War experiences was published in 1962 by the Lebanon County Historical Society as Vol. 13, No. 4, of their publications, edited by Ralph S. Shay.
