Susannah M. Greene daughter of Thomas and Nancy Greene was born in Scotland Co. November 20th 1857 where her entire life was spent with the exception of a few years. On June 13th 1878 she was married to Dr. H. M. Stone.
She was a member of the Baptist Church in Memphis until she came to live with her daughter Mrs. Nell Priest when she transferred her membership to the Dover Baptist Church where she was a devoted member. She was a kind and loving mother and went about doing good to others and the memory of her beautiful deeds will leave a lasting fragrance in the minds of her many friends.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Nell Priest of Scotland Co. and Mrs. Harry Wagner, Memphis, MO. One sister Mrs. F. D. Cooper San Diego, California. Four grandchildren, John G. Priest, Katherine Blessing of Scotland Co. David S. Tuttle of Tacoma Washington, Sidney Wagner of Memphis, Mo. One great grandchild Henry Blessing.
Her husband, two daughters and one son preceded her in death.
Mrs. H. M. Stone died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Nell Priest Monday morning Aug. 6th at 11:00 o'clock. The service was conducted by Re. C. K. Green at the Dover Baptist Church where she was a member.
The service was held Aug. 8th at 10:30. Burial was in Dover Cemetary. Pall bearers were John W. Priest, John G. Priest, Harry Wagner, Jacob Blessing, Lowell Newland, and Wayne Wagner.
