Barbara I. Mitchell, 77, of Jacksonville died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at St. John's Hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1925, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Clifford L. and Irene E. Cannon Gillis. She married Robert J. Mitchell in 1947 in Little Rock, Ark.; he died in 1983. Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker. She was of the Catholic faith. Survivors: a daughter, Janet Lee Mitchell of Jacksonville; two sisters, Pauline Shyrock and Mary Flowers, both of Jacksonville; a brother, Don (wife, Esta) Gillis of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial: Diamond Grove Cemetery, Jacksonville.
