Sylvia Bitner Hinckley Wadsworth, 49, school teacher and church worker, died Monday [, February 2, 1970,] in Cedar City [, Utah,] after an extended illness.
A daughter of Bryant S. and Ada Bitner Hinckley, she was born March 7, 1920, in Salt Lake City. She attended schools in Chicago, Ill., where her father was presiding over the Northern States Mission [of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints].
In 1940, Mrs. Wadsworth graduated from Brigham Young University with high honors. She taught school in Panaca, Nev., and had served on the Lincoln County School Board.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had worked in the various auxiliaries of the Church.
Mrs. Wadsworth had written numerous articles and was the co-author of "A Century in Meadow Valley."
On Aug. 20, 1940, she married Franklin Don Wadsworth in the Salt Lake Temple.
She is survived by her husband, of Panaca; seven sons and four daughters, Franklin Brent, of Fallon, Nev.; Bryant Hinckley, of East Lansing, Mich.; Mrs. Lorrell (Terry) Bleak, of Pioche, Nev.; Don Scott, Valerie, James Hinckley, Florence Lark, Anthony Noel, John Jared, Charlotte Hinckley, David Patrick, all of Panaca; six grandchildren; her mother; and brothers and sisters, Elder Gordon B. Hinckley, Council of the Twelve; Sherman B. Hinckley, Mrs. J. S. (Ruth) Willes, Mrs. P. J. (Ramona) Sullivan, Mrs. C. A. (Lucile) Laxman, Mrs. Tracy Y. (Carol) Cannon, R. Waldo Hinckley, Mrs. L. J. (Venice) Nielson, Mrs. O. P. (Christine) Robinson, Salt Lake City; H. Grant Hinckley, Albuquerque, N. M.
Funeral services will be held Friday in Panaca.
