William Oliver Herring, 54, of Orrtanna, died at the Warner hospital at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon, from a complication of diseases. He was admitted to the hospital on March 25.
Mr. Herring worked with a track crew of the Western Maryland railroad for a number of years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Clara H Herring; two sons, Earl O Herring, York, and Guy A Herring, Gettysburg; two daughters, Mrs. Gomer Sharpe, Gettysburg, and Miss Mary H Herring, at home; three brothers, George A Herring and Mervin Herring, Orrtanna; David Herring, Cashtown, and five sisters, Mrs. Grant Herring Emmitsburg; Mrs. Joseph Smith, Frostburg; Mrs. Oliver Fritz and
Mrs. Charles Baumgardner, Hanover; Mrs. Leslie Bishop, Orrtanna.
Brief funeral services at the home Friday afternoon at 1:30, and further services at 2:00 in St. John's Reformed church, McKnightstown, the Rev. R W Limbert, Fairfield, officiating. Interment in the cemetery adjoining the church.
