Heinrich "Henry" and Wilhelmina "Minnie" Beier, natives of Pomerania in the Kingdom of Prussia, immigrated to the United States with their four sons in 1857, and farmed in Bloomington Township, McLean County, Illinois. He became a U.S. citizen in 1864.


Minnie Beier died in 1872, and Henry Beier afterwards lived with his son Augustus in the county's Blue Mound Township
