According to his Washington State death certificate, David was the son of Benjamin O. Coleman and Sarah Catherine Green. His wife was named Minnie M. Coleman. He was a banker.

David married Minnie M. Cheatham on May 25, 1909 in King Co., Washington.

In his WWI Draft Registration Card, David lived in Kent, Washington with his wife Minnie May. he worked as a cashier for the First National Bank in Kent. The card was dated 9/12/1918.

Death claimed David T. Coleman, 55, president of the First National Bank of Montsano and former banker of Kent, at Aberdeen Friday, May 3. Complications arising from a ruptered appendix for which he was rushed to a hospital on the preceeding Monday, proved fatal. Mr. Coleman was a widely known resident and businessman of Kent for a period of 18 years prior to moving to Montesano thirteen years ago.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 6, in Montesano, after which the body was brought to Kent for interment in the family lot at the Kent cemetery. Rev. C. E. Sharp, pastor of the Montesano Presbyterian church conducted both the cermonies which were attended by many Kent friends.

David Tony Coleman was born April 30, 1880 in Missouri and came to Washington in 1902. He was married to Miss Minnie Cheatham of Kent in 1908. During his eighteen years of residence at Kent he was connected with the First National Bank of Kent and served many years as cashier of that institution and participated in many civic affairs.

At Montesano he has held positions as president of the Chamber of Commerce, member of the school board, city councilman and elder in the Presbyterian church. He was a member of the Masonic, Eagles and Odd Fellows lodges.

Surviving him are his wife, Minnie; a son, David; and daughters, Mary Catherine (lots of typos in original); all of Montesano. Two brothers, Ben and George, reside at Kent and a sister, Mrs. Maude Eveland resides at Portland. Three nephews and two nieces, Troy and Trevis Coleman, B. Oppinger, and Barbara and June Coleman also reside in Kent."
