Ralph Shultz, 80, died this morning at 12:20 at his home, 215 Chambersburg St., from a complication of diseases. He had been in ill health four years and was bedfast two weeks.
He was a native of Adams County a son of the late John and Barbara Lentz Shultz. During his early life he was a farmer. About 20 years ago he came to Gettysburg and worked for the Gettysburg Furniture Co. and McDermitt Brothers. He retired about 10 years ago. the deceased was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his widow, the former Anna Shuyler, with whom he observed his 58th wedding anniversary last October; nine children, Dorsey H., Cashtown; Mrs. Isabelle Shultz, Orrtanna; Paul, Gettysburg, Mrs. Hazel Harman, Gettysburg; Mrs. Fern Crouse, Baltimore; Mrs. Clarence Thompson, Mrs. Walter Riley, Mrs. Harry Dick and Mrs. Harvey Gastley, all of Gettysburg; 34 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters, Mrs. Clara Hassler, Chambersburg, Mrs. John Fidler, Biglerville; Ottie E., Fairfield, Clarence, Cashtown; Glenn, Orrtanna; Mrs. Charles Shindledecker, Orrtanna; Mrs. Orville Jacoby, R4; Mrs. Bessie Roth, Biglerville, and Howard, Biglerville.
Funeral services Monday at 2:00 from the Bender Funeral Home, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Herman Stuemple Jr. Interment in Flohr's Cemetery, McKnightstown.
