Charles "Harold" Coker, 48, of Yazoo City died around 7:30 a.m. as he was cutting a large limb off a tree, Shivers said. During the process, the tree's weight shifted and a portion separated from the tree, striking Coker in his head.

Funeral services were Friday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home with Rev David Humphreys and Rev Arli Frances officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Charles was born January 4, 1963 in Leflore County to Charles and Grace Coker. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church and worked with the Yazoo County Road Dept.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles H. Coker, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Coker of Yazoo City, two daughters, Angel (Bobby) Horton and Ashley (Rob) Saxton, all of Yazoo City, his mother, Grace Coker of Yazoo City and seven grandchildren, Hanna Grace, Ashton, Ethan, Victoria, Slayton, Breanna and Emma Rae.
Pallbearers were David Barrett, Quint Carver, Sammy Luke, Billy Fry, Glen Moore and Kenny Ables.
