Description: In 1971, P. G. Richardson identified the photographs: 'This picture was taken on the farm of my Father, Presstman J. Richardson, which is located 7 miles north and 1 mile east of Broken Bow, Nebraska, located in the Southeast Corner of Section 21, Twp. 18, Range 20 W, Custer County, Nebraska. 'The undersigned was born on this farm on November 8, 1895, and grew up to manhood on the same and is well acquainted with the scene shown in the picture. The man on the Right is my Father, P.J. Richardson and the party standing between the two mare mules, Jane and Kane, is Nelson 'Happy' Wantz. The white mule is named Jane; the black Kate. The other party in the picture is probably my uncle, Byrd Deatherage, who owned the land nearby adjoining part of the farm. The dog in front of my Father is probably Either 'Big' or 'Little' as we named them; the other dog standing before my uncle was a sheep dog that my Father purchased in Omaha, Nebraska, when he had taken sheep to market... The scene is looking North and the road tracks on the adjoining farm were used in those days.... ===============================================================
