Sgro, of Brockton, April 27, 2007, Anthony J. Sgro, 87 years. Husband of the late Kathleen T. "Kay" (MacDonald) Sgro and brother of the late Angie Gianunzio and Frederick Sgro. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother.
Anthony J. Sgro died Friday at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a period of failing health. Born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Frank and Lena (Bruno) Sgro, he was a graduate of Brockton High School and remained a lifelong resident of Brockton. Anthony was an Army veteran of WWII, and had been employed as a ship fitter for over 35 years at the Boston Naval Shipyard in Charlestown. He enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at a time to be announced. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery.
