BODENSCHATZ - Edward Sr., 76, 2nd Avenue, Summerhill, died at 3:40 a.m. April 20, 1965, at Mercy Hospital, Johnstown. Born April 9, 1889, in Croyle Township, son of Andrew and Margaret (Schmidt) Bodenschatz. Married to the former Bernadine Schrift, who died September 9, 1963.

Survived by these children: the Rev. Ronald, TOR, Saint Francis Prep School, Spring Grove, Pennsylvania; Edward Jr., Summerhill; Viginia, wife of Regis Boxler, 1633 Goucher Street, Johnstown; Florence Marie, wife of Richard Cowan, 277 Culin Street, Johnstown, and Margaret Louise, wife of Herbert Schrift, Loretto; also 27 grandchildren. Brother of Miss Minnie Bodenschatz and Mrs. Barbara Zaff, both of Johnstown.

Retired Summerhill lumber dealer. Member of Knights of Saint George, Summerhill; Holy Name Society of Saint John's Catholic Church, Summerhill.

Friends received after 4 p.m. Tuesday in Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, South Fork, where Prayers for the Dead will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Solemn Requiem Mass at 10 a.m. Thurday at Saint John's Church, the Rev. Ronald Bodenschatz, celebrant. Interment, Saint Mary's Cemetery, New Germany.
