Lemuel M. Nading was the youngest of five known children of Simeon (went by Simon) Nading (1790-1853) and Mary (went by Polly) Catherine Sutlive Nading (1792-1857), who married 28 Sep 1811 at Rowan (now Davidson) County, North Carolina. Some time between 1830 and 1842 the family moved from Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina to Bartholomew County, Indiana; to the vicinity of the Moravian community of Hope.

Lemuel married Susanna (went by Susan) Zeigler (1822-1898) on 18 Mar 1843 at Bartholomew County, Indiana. Samuel and Susan were the parents of three known children, all daughters, namely:

1 . Clementine S. Nading (1846-1862)
2. Lenora F. Nading (1848–1864)
3. louella America Nading Mansell (1851–1935)

Lemuel taught Spencerian penmanship and operated a wood pump manufacturing plant at Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana.

After Lemuel died, Susan remarried to John Manley Snipes (1813-1892) on 01 Dec 1856 at Bartholomew County, Indiana. Susan and John were the parents of four known children, three girls and one boy. In 1860 John Snipes, Susan Ziegler Petro Nading Snipes, the three Nading daughters; and John and Susan's first two children (both daughters) were living at St. Louis, Bartholomew County, Indiana. I can't find the family on the 1870 census. In 1880 John, Susan, Mary Snipes (b. 1859), Mittie Snipes (b. 1861) and James Snipes (b. 1865) were living at French Lick, Orang County, Indiana.

Family records indicate that Susan died 06 Apr 1898 at French Lick, Orange County, Indiana. However the Moore's Ridge Cemetery transcriptions give her death date as 27 Apr 1904. Does anyone know which is correct?

Links to Lemuel's parents, wife, all of his three known children and three of his four known siblings are included below.

In Lemuel's bio you name his wife as Susanna Elizabeth Zeigler, possibly a widow at the time of their marriage, Mrs. Susanna Petro.

I find Susanna Zeigler and Elizabeth Petro to be two different individuals.

There seems to be an error in the transcription of marriage records as found on Ancestry. Ancestry has one transcribed marriage record that says Lemuel Nading married Susannah Ziegler on 18 Mar 1843 in Bartholomew County, Indiana. Ancestry also has multiple transcribed marriage records that say Lemuel Nading married Elizabeth Petro on 19 Mar 1843 in Bartholomew County, Indiana.

The latter is incorrect. Elizabeth Petro married Daniel Smith on 19 Mar 1843. Their marriage is recorded on the same page as the marriage of Lemuel Nading to Susannah Ziegler. The image can be found here https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XXBS-FHZ and here https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XXBS-F44.

I have not found any records of a middle name for Susannah.
