Reliance Barton, Wife of Hon. James Barton of Newaygo died on the 1st inst. There were among the early settlers of northern Michigan. Mr. Barton held the office of supervisor of the township of Big Prairie for thirty-two years and held the office of judge of probate for Newaygo county twenty-four yers.
