Elizabeth Mason Marable was the wife of the Rev. Henry Hartwell Marable, who she married in Sussex County, VA in 1775. They moved their family from Virginia to Tennessee shortly after 1800 and established a large family. They owned a large farm on Almaville Road in Smyrna, TN. The log cabin in which they lived was sold after the Marable's deaths to Charles Davis, father of the Confederate Boy Hero, Sam Davis, and was later moved to the Sam Davis plantation in Smyrna, TN, where it still resides today. Elizabeth's gravesite where she is interred is completely surrounded now by personal residences and commercial businesses on all sides from when this picture was made in 2011. The gravesite has almost been completely desecrated over time and the marker is crumbling to such an extent that the writing is barely visible. Elizabeth Mason Marable is my GGGG Grandmother.
