Nels (also Niels or Nilsen) Christian Anderson was born to Niels Christian Anderson Sr and Else Marie Christenson, on 14 Aug 1888. His parents were originally from Denmark, and he had 5 sisters (Nilsina, Laura Christina, May Levina, Nellie O., and Nina V.) and 2 brothers (Andrew and Everett M.).
"Uncle Dutch" was a sweet, gentle man, who was kind to all his nieces and nephews, even if we were of a "step" relationship. I remember him taking us for rides on the sand dunes of Samoa, in his old open jeep. After he'd passed, my Aunt Edith gave me a bamboo knick-knack set of shelves that she said had come from his family, because "Uncle Dutch and I had gotten on so well." I treasure that little shelf to this day.
