Mrs. Mercer, wife of Dr. S. D. Mercer of this city, died Tuesday night at Tucson. A. T.

Mrs. Mercer had gone west early in the winter for her health, having been suffering with bronchitis. Mrs. Mercer had lived here for over thirty-five years, during which time she had endearted herself to all who knew her. Mrs. Mercer was formerly Miss Hulst of Brooklyn, N. Y. Her mother, Mrs. Nancy Hulst, died in this city about two years ago.

Mrs. Mercer leaves three children, Dr. Nelson D. Mercer, Miss Carolyn Mercer and Miss Mary Mercer, who is now at school in Knoxville.

The family will leave Tucson for Omaha shortly and the funeral will be held the latter part of the week from the family residence, 3830 Cuming street.

Large Concourse Pay Last Tribute to Mrs. S. D. Mercer.

Hardly one of the more prominent and older families but were represented at the funeral of Mrs. S. D. Mercer at the family home, Fortieth and Cuming streets Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The large number of the older men and women of the city, too, was evident, the day, wonderfully fair, enabling many to pay a last tribute to Mrs. Mercer, whom colder weather would have compelled to remain indoors.

Rev. T. J. Mackay of All Saints read the beautiful Episcopal service and prayer, while the church quartet sang the hymns Mrs. Mercer loved in life.

The remains were interred at Forest Lawn, the pallbearers being:
Charles Balbach, W. J. Broatch,
Colonel S. S. Curtis, G. A. Hoagland,
Dr. H. M. McClanahan, John D. Barker,
S. A. McWhorterr. Dr. R. C. Moore.
