A Native of Oklahoma, she came to Anderson in 1928 from Oregon. She was employed 20 years at the Gospel Trumpet Company, now Warner Press Inc.; and she was secretary and underwriter for the last 20 years at Lowe's Inc.
She had been a promoter of the Fine Arts Center here and formerly was affiliated with the Altrusa Club and active in Urban League affairs.
Surviving are a son, Clark H. Byrum, two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Dillon of Portland, Ore., and Sr. Irene Valentine of Monrovia, Calif.; four grandchildren.
Private rites will take place Saturday at the Harold E. Rozelle Funeral Home and burial will be in the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. At Mrs. Byrum's request, no calling hours have been arranged.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Heart Fund in her honor.
