Son of James Fredrick "Jim" Yeldell and Mary Jane Bunn. Jim married two sisters. Jim had Emmett by the first wife, Matilda. When Matilda died, he then married Matilda's sister, Mary Jane, and had more children. George Fredrick, Mary Elizabeth "Aunt Mae" Sims and Ellen "Auntie Jones" Jones, Roy and Katherine Anne "Aunt Kate" Yeldell.

According to 1940 Census - Fred was born in Louisiana - lists his occupation as a bus driver for the parish schools - still living in Bastrop off Route 2

Mary Jane had first married a Folds. She had two boys, William and Walter, before marrying James. Mr. Folds died then she married her sister's widower.

Old bachelor
Married Flora Olivia Evans Cheshire
Could not accept Flora's daughter (Florene) from previous marriage with Will Cheshire.
Children:
Hubert Allen Yeldell
Alice Yeldell Sisson
Joseph Fredrick Yeldell

According to his daughter, Alice Yeldell Sisson, Fred's father was the son of a prosperous farmer in Alabama. The sons were raised to be gentleman. After the Civil War, Fred's father did not know how to work. Fred spent his life working hard trying to regain the family fortune. He basically worked himself to death. He was very proud of the fact that he was not a share cropper. Fred owned his own land.

Fred never cussed. The worst thing he could call someone was "crazy dunce". Fred spent time in Waco, TX and Jacksonville, Florida. He took a barber course before marriage and also worked as a carpenter. He built the home in which Hubert, Alice and Joe were raised. Family moved into the house the Wednesday before Pearl Harbor. Fred had a tenor voice and his favorite song was "After the Ball." Also tried to yodel. He used to come out of the field doing a step called a "shodd-ist" - it was not a two-step.

Died at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, Louisiana. Certifying Physician: Dr. F. J. Willey, Jr. of Monroe Louisiana. Info from Hopkins/Blackwell Funeral Home records.
