Neil Constance, 86, of Mooresville, left this life on Thursday night, Oct. 31, 2013 to be with The Lord. Born in Columbus, N.C. May 7, 1927, to Adelina Pittman Constance and Edwin Constance, Neil was the second of six children. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a 1952 graduate of Wofford College. He was married to Betty Mae Robbins April 25, 1948, with whom he shared 60 years of loving marriage before her death in 2008. He is survived by children, Lori Constance Hayes, of Davidson and Neil Constance Jr., of Columbia; grandchildren, Kelcie Constance Sanders, of Anderson, S.C. and Cameron Neil Constance, of Seneca, S.C.; and great-grandson, Jaxon Reid Sanders, of Anderson, S.C. He is survived by a brother, Jamie Constance, of Santa Barbara, Calif. and two sisters, Joanne Wanciak, of Rutherfordton and Myrna Edwards, of Tryon. In addition to his wife Betty, Neil is predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Constance and Ernest Constance, of Columbus, N.C. A memorial service to celebrate Neil's life will be held Monday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Mooresville. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the Constance family.
