Florence Bowen services held June 9
Florence Minnie (Stevenson) Bowen was born August 25, 1903, in Mills County, Iowa. She was a daughter of Lucius L Stevenson and Mary May (Plumb) Stevenson. Florence died July 6, 1993, at the Manor of Malvern.
Florence was a housewife and farm wife. She and her husband Ted lived and farmed one mile east of Malvern for many years. She was an active member of the Malvern United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and served on various church councils and committees. She also was a member of the L T N club.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ted in 1990, an infant daughter Florence Mae Bowen, and infant brother Caroll Jean Bowen and an infant sister Amiee Stevenson.
Florence is survived by her nephews and nieces and their children.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jun 9, at 10:30 am at Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home in Malvern with Rev Donald Frizzell officiating. Burial was in the Malvern Cemetery. Open Visitation was held on Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 8:30 pm.
Serving as pallbearers were Jack Bowen, Douglas Bowen, Mark Babbitt, Ward Hunt, Harold Skerritt and Dick Wederquist. Mary Ann Hunt and Catherine Hunt were in charge of the Floral Tribunes. Julie Bowen was the Registry Book Attendant. Nick Bowen served as an usher. Sheri Bowen as soloist and JoAnna Perkins as organist provided the musical selections, "In the Garden," and "How Great Thou Art".
A Memorial Fund has been established in her name.
