Evelyn Mae Anderson passed away at Seabrook Assisted Care in Everett, on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Evelyn was born in Denver, Colorado on August 19, 1913 to Martin and Katie Ryan Anglemyer. She joined two sisters, Marie and Loretta. When she was seven years old her family moved to Douglas County, Colorado where her father farmed and she attended school in a one-room schoolhouse. In her senior years she could still name all her teachers and classmates. In 1930 she married John Anderson and together they raised a family of ten children. In 1944 they moved to Washington State where John worked at Hanford. After his retirement they moved to western Washington. In 1999 she moved to an independent living senior apartment in Bothell and remained there until August of 2010 when it was necessary that she move to Seabrook, an assisted care facility in Everett. Evelyn was very proud of her family, and especially cherished her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, genetic or otherwise, it didn't matter. She loved them all and was always pleased to hear news from them. Many of them have baby sweater and/or blanket sets that she crocheted for them before they were born. She loved to crochet, but was unable to pursue the hobby in the last few years due to arthritis in her hands. She also loved to read especially American history novels.

She is survived by eight children, Don (Vi) Anderson, Chuck (Wilma) Anderson, Genevieve (Mel) Suelzle, Joe (Marian) Anderson, Jim (Jeannie) Anderson, Mary (Jack) Miller, Pat (Bill) Gavin, and Bob Anderson. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John, two sons, Richard and Michael and one grandson, Roger Anderson. She devoted her life to caring for her children, especially her youngest son Michael.
