She was born June 1, 1907, in Cook County, Ga., and had lived in Cook County all of her life. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church, where she served as both a pianist and a Sunday School teacher. She was a homemaker. Her parents were Tuck and Orpie Rountree. She was married to the late William Emmette Betts Sr.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Allie Jean Betts of Adel; a daughter, Mary McCranie of Adel; grandchildren, Marcia Pierce of Tifton, Kathy Green of Sparks, Gail Kearee of Tifton, Denise Fletecher of Adel, Kay Norton of Sparks, Tony Betts of Adel and Jeffrey Betts of Adel; 15 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Fendley; two brothers, Jake and Herbert Rountree; and three infant brothers.
