BOTKIN, Albert J. 84, of Springfield passed away Monday, June 27, 2005 in Community Hospital.

He was born in New Carlisle, Ohio on February 22, 1921, the son of Albert Burton and Sadie Marie (WOLFE) BOTKIN.

Albert retired from Bauer Brothers as a salesman with 35 years of service. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Albert was a longtime member of Trinity Missionary Church, but recently joined Central Christian Church. His hobbies included old cars and boats.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Anna Marie CARTER.

His survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elda Marie (DOLWICH) BOTKIN, whom he married August 1, 1940; one son, James BOTKIN of Marysville; one sister, Dorothy GRIDLEY of Ft. Myers, Florida; three grandchildren, Christa (Martin) MCCOMAS, Heather (Tony) BOOHER, and Brian (Tammy) BOTKIN; three great-grandchildren, Jacob MCCOMAS, Alex BOOHER, and Mathew BOTKIN; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home with Rev. Dennis Moritz officiating, where friends and family may call one hour prior to services. Burial to follow in Vale Cemetery.
