Harry S. Spangler
EVANSTON--Harry S. Spangler, 83, Evanston, died Sunday in an Evanston hospital of a heart ailment.
Mr. Spangler was born April 1, 1876, in Dickinson, Pa., a son of William and Catherine Zinn Spangler. He came to Wyoming in 1900. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad Co. as a pumper in the water service department. He worked at Granger, Bitter Creek, Riner and Leroy, Wyo., prior to moving to Castle Rock, Utah, in 1935. He retired in 1947 and came to Evanston to reside at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Condos.
On July 19, 1919, he married Mary Lee in Kemmerer. She died Feb. 16, 1940.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church and Elks Lodge of Ogden.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. John (Mildred) Condos, Evanston; a stepson, Vernon Gunn, Green River, Wyo.; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the R. E. Bryan Mortuary Chapel by the Elks Lodge of Ogden. Friends may call at the mortuary tonight and tomorrow until services. Burial in Evanston City Cemetery.
