Roy Raymond Turner
Roy Raymond Turner was born April 20, 1897, at Rome, Iowa, in Henry County and died at his home in Troy, Iowa, Tuesday, May 23, 1972, at the age of 75 years, one month and three days.
He was united in marriage to Ethel Marie Ensminger, December 31, 1920. To this union two children were born, one daughter, Mrs. Carmen Ritz of Tipton, Iowa and one son, Gene Turner of Douds, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife Ethel,his son and daughter.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, three brothers and five sisters.
He spent most of his life in the Troy area.
He was a devout Christian and a member of the Rabbitt Ridge Gospel Tabernacle. He was a good husband, loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 25, 1972, at the Troy United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Glen Willier and Rev. J. E. McClellan. Organist was Mrs. Gilbert Fredrickson and vocalists were Mrs. Alice White and Shirley Ritz.
Interment was in the Troy Cemetery, Troy, Iowa. Casket bearers were Donald White, Jack White, Rex Roberts, Joe White, Arlo Roberts and Clair Rodgers.
