Charles Wesley King was born July 16, 1829 in Daviess County, Kentucky to Elias and Alsie King. He married Elizabeth Davis and they had one child together in 1860, Felix Madison King. He then married Luvina Miller and they had one child together in 1880, Charlotte King. He died on January 13, 1913, in Shelbyville, Illinois, having lived a long life of 84 years.

Charles Wesley King was a Civil War Soldier in Co. E, the 11th Regiment of the Illinois Infantry.
